  • Valid Passport: Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your travel date.
  • Chinese Group Visa: This special visa is processed in Kathmandu for all travelers in your group.
  • Tibet Travel Permit (TTB Permit): This is your main entry ticket to Tibet, issued by the Tibet Tourism Bureau.
  • Medical Fitness Certificate: A simple certificate from your doctor confirming you’re fit for high-altitude travel.
  • Travel Insurance: We highly recommend comprehensive travel insurance covering high-altitude emergencies for your peace of mind.

This is excellent! The updated information makes the process much more precise and aligns with current ground realities for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra. It’s great to see the specific timelines and document requirements outlined clearly.

Let’s integrate your new process into the “For Indian Citizens” section.

For Indian Citizens: Your Kailash Mansarovar Yatra Visa & Permit Process

Indian pilgrims have a specific and carefully managed process for their Kailash Mansarovar Yatra visas when traveling via Nepal. It’s crucial to follow these steps with the provided timelines.

Step 1: Booking Your Yatra & Initial Document Submission

  • Choose Your Yatra: Begin by selecting your desired Kailash Mansarovar Yatra package with us.

  • Confirm Booking: Complete our booking form and make your initial payment.

  • Original Passport Required (35 Days Prior): For Indian citizens, we require your original Indian passport to initiate the permit application process. This needs to reach us at least 35 days before your planned departure date. You will also be provided with a booking form to complete upon payment.

  • Passport Blank Pages: Along with the passport, please provide scans of two blank pages from your passport. While required later, sending them sooner ensures a smoother process.

  • Group Travel: Chinese regulations mandate travel to Tibet in organized groups. We facilitate forming these groups and often have fixed departure dates, or can arrange custom dates for larger groups.

  • Aadhaar Card for Nepal Entry: Remember, Indian citizens don’t need a passport to enter Nepal. You can travel to Kathmandu using a valid government ID like your Aadhaar Card. Once your Chinese Group Visa is approved in Kathmandu, you can collect your passport upon arrival.

Step 2: Securing Your Tibet Travel Permit (TTB Permit)

  • Permit Application Begins: Once we receive your original passport and booking form, we will immediately apply for your Tibet Travel Permit (TTB Permit). This is an essential permit issued by the Tibet Tourism Bureau.

  • Permit Receipt (10 Days Prior): We typically receive the TTB Permit about 10 days before your scheduled arrival in Kathmandu.

  • No “Permit-Only” Service: As per Tibetan Government rules, a tour must include a vehicle and a licensed tour guide. This applies to all Kailash Mansarovar Yatra permits.

Step 3: Chinese Group Visa Application in Kathmandu

  • Arrival in Kathmandu: Please plan to arrive in Kathmandu at least 3-4 working days before your planned departure for Tibet. This time is crucial for Kailash Mansarovar Yatra visa processing at the Chinese Embassy, which can only commence after the TTB Permit is underway.

  • Required Documents (Upon Arrival): Before your arrival in Kathmandu, we will require your original passport at the Delhi office and  two passport-sized photographs (48mm x 33mm). Ensure the photos have a clear white background, show your face clearly, and have no accessories.

  • Our Responsibility: Our team handles all the visa application formalities for your Kailash Mansarovar Yatra visas once the permit is in hand.

  • Important Visa Detail: The Chinese “group visa” is a separate sheet of paper, not stamped in your passport. It lists all group members and is usually valid for 20-30 days. Please note that any existing individual Chinese visa in your passport will be canceled when this new group visa is issued, as per the border agreement between Nepal and China.

Step 4: Departure to Tibet & Yatra Completion

  • Yatra Commences: Once we receive the Chinese Group Visa, your journey to Kailash will commence.

  • Guide Holds Permits: Once you are in Tibet, your tour guide will hold your original TTB Permit and manage the Alien’s Travel Permit (PSB Permit). You cannot carry these documents yourself or travel independently.

  • Continuous Support: Our team, including your head guide, will stay in constant touch via WhatsApp or other means to ensure your whereabouts and well-being throughout the Yatra.

  • Yatra Completion Certificate: Upon the successful completion of your sacred Mount Kailash Yatra, we will provide you with a certificate as a reward for this significant achievement.

Important Advice for Your Yatra (For All Travelers)
