Arrive and drive to Thimphu
- Your Arrival Time – Upon arrival, drive to Thimphu. Later visit Buddha Point and stroll around Thimphu small market.

Thimphu sightseeing
- After breakfast, sightseeing tour of National Chorten, National Library, Nat Heritage Museum, Memorial Chorten, Tashicho Dzong, Monthinthang Zoo, visit National Libarary, Handicraft Emporium, and Art and Craft school.
- Meal: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
- Hotel: Hotel River view or similar (Thimphu)
Drive to Punakha and sightseeing
- After breakfast, drive to Punakha through Doech La Pass from where one can see of Beautiful Mountain ranges of Bhutan. Visit Wangduephodrang Dzong built in 1638. The Punakha Dzong houses secret artifacts and the embalmed body of Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyel.
- Meal: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Punakha
- After breakfast, commence on sightseeing of Punakha, Khamsum Yulley Chorten – it is a beautiful view walk to the stupa built by third queen Ashi Tshering Yangdon and the new temple and Hunny site of Sangachoeling on the way to Talo Village.
- Meal: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
- Hotel: Hotel Damchen or similar (Wangdi / Punakha)
Drive to Paro and sightseeing
- After breakfast, drive to Paro. Later commence on sightseeing of Drukyal Dzong, Ta Dzong, Kyichu Lakhag and Rinpung Dzong.

Paro sightseeing.
- After breakfast, commence on sightseeing of Taksang Lakhang – Tiger’s nest Monastery, Optional drive to Chele la pass. Evening free for shopping.

Where is Bhutan located?
- The south Asian country, Bhutan is landlocked country surrounded three sides by India and One side by China at latitude 27°28.0′N and longitude 89°38.5′E
What is best season to visit Bhutan?
- The best season to visit Bhutan is during spring or autumn(February, March, April, September, October and November) rest season are rainy or cold.
Is there any restriction in import and export of goods?
Yes, there are some restrictions the following things are restricted:
- Arms and ammunition
- Narcotics and drugs expect medically prescribed drugs
- Wildlife products, especially those of endangered species
- Antiques (Therefore, visitors are advised to purchase antique goods with clearance certificate only)
How to reach Bhutan?
- Druk Air is the country’s national carrier. Druk air have flights few days each week from Nepal (Kathmandu), Thailand (Bangkok). Bagladesh (Dacca).
What is Bhutan famous for?
- Bhutan, the land of the thunder dragon is religiously and naturally blessed place. It is the only Buddhist kingdom. The peaceful environment and panoramic views of mountains and different monasteries are the main attraction of Bhutan.

- Wide range of food items is available in the major restaurants and hotels in Bhutan including Indian, Chinese and Continental. Duo Non-Vegetarian and Vegetarian items are available.
Is tap water safe for drinking?
- Tap water is not recommended for drinking so it is better to drink mineral water which is easily available but make sure the seal is not broken.
What types of accommodations are available in the Bhutan?
- In major cities like Thimpu, Paro, Wangdue and Punakha have best hotels equivalent to 3-4 stars hotels. The government of Bhutan have classified hotels as Grade A,B and C.
Visa & Other Formalities
What are the Visa formalities?
- For every foreigner who wishes to travel Bhutan have to get Bhutan Visa. For visa, a passport is required which must be valid for at least 6 months after leaving Bhutan. The Druk Air allows boarding to people with visa clearance from Bhutan Government only.
Is smoking prohibited in Bhutan?
- The sale of tobacco goods is prohibited in Bhutan. However smoking is not banned but without an import receipt issued by Department of Revenue and Custom is restricted. Smoking in public place is restricted and taken as illegal act and may even cause penalty of 3 months prison so it is advised to smoke in private places only.
What is the luggage limit on Druk Air?
- 20 kg in economic class
- 30 kg in business class
- Extra 5 kg is allowed for storing in the overhead baggage bin

- What is the currency of Bhutan?
BTN (Bhutanese Ngultrum) is the official currency of Bhutan. 53.81 BTN= 1USD.
How do we change the money?
- Bhutan National Bank, Citibank and Bank of Thimpu are some of the names of the bank which allow money exchange.
Is there any ATM available in Bhutan?
- No, there are no ATMs available in Bhutan. Few have been open recently but its open to local residents only.
Will my credit card work in Bhutan?
- Generally credit card is not accepted in Bhutan but some handicraft shops accept credit cards.
Phone/Communication
Is it possible to use my mobile over there in Bhutan?
- As for now only Telstra Mobile network sim only operate in Bhutan. However you can contact your local mobile company for the international roaming availability in Bhutan.
How we will be connected with our friends and families then?
- A local pre paid sim card can be purchased upon arrival at airport.

- Yes, you can join in an archery game and also visit local village and farmhouses.
Is it possible to have meditation session with monks?
- Yes, it is possible to have a short meditation session after getting permission.
What are the health precautions that we should take?
- Amoebas and Giardiasis are especially found in Southeast Asia, Mosquito repellent, cream or lotion is suggested to keep handy to avoid malaria. Necessary medicines like anti diarrhea, antihistamine tablets, anti-nausea tablets (mountain sickness) are advised to carry along with during travel. There are simple clinics through the Bhutan but for major Hospital you’ve to reach Thimpu.
